Our educational program embraces the principles of the national Early Years Learning Framework. Using the Framework as our platform, learning outcomes are achieved through play and enhanced through intentional teaching. Children are encouraged to make choices and take part in activities while having fun. A variety of individual and group activities, indoor and outdoor experiences are encouraged through the opportunity of spontaneous play. Children are made to feel safe and secure, allowing their natural curiosity and desire to guide their exploration of their environment.
The Framework aims to provide all children with the opportunity to experience play-based learning that is engaging and builds success for life. Fundamental to the Framework is a view of children’s lives characterised by belonging, being and becoming.
Belonging shapes who children are and who they become. Children feel they belong because of relationships they have with their family, community, culture and place.
Being is ‘a time to be, to seek and make meaning of the world’. It is not only about the ‘future’ but about ‘now’, letting the children understand and know who they are and how they fit within the complexities and challenges of everyday life.
Becoming is about the events and experiences that shape a child’s identity as they learn and grow and become more confident communicators.
We pride ourselves in incorporating, sustainable practices into our program such as growing vegetables, recycling etc.
Our programs are delivered in partnership with our educators, families, community and we are receptive to each child’s ideas, interests, strengths and abilities.
